Secret lives of Tenzing & Ahndantae – Part 1.

Meow! (pause)

Meow! (Double pause)

Meow! Meow! – went the alarm.

Tenzingh, the boy cat had created this alarm. It’s rhythm, pitch, tone, space between his mouth-my ear, everything precisely crafted and played for desired result he expected. I opened my eyes to see him staring with messages in his eyes –

Message 1: The ship has landed (What?!)

Message 2: It’s time – get on with it.

I woke up in a blur and confused. Were they trying to tell me something? And they were so shy and scared yesterday, when I started staying at my friends place to look after them – now what had changed? I called my friend, the animal expert.

They need to trust you – she told me Feed them, that’s one way of winning their trust –she added. I did that, served them food.

Ahndantae made an appearance only after the smell of the kibble wafted through the rooms and hit her shy nostrils.

Bye-bye shyness – hello food!

She ran and began eating – no greetings were exchanged. Once Ahndantae began gobbling down her food, Tenzing watched her for a bit before he walked to his bowl and munched on his serving. All the while, he kept watching me from the corner of his eye.

So much for trust.

To be continued….
