Non-conversations

What's there to eat today?
It's a four-letter word.
Lunch?
I said four letters.
*Counting on fingers*
I'm off to the kitchen and will be right back. Time enough to think.

I'm back. Did you figure?
Food.
Food, indeed.
Don't be smart. What food?
You will know when it comes.
When will it come?
Soon.
When will soon be?
I will let you know as soon as i know.
And what's for dinner?
I've cooked enough for dinner too.

When will you get the plates?
I'll get them when the food is ready.
Please bring a bowl for me.
Today's food will not require a bowl.
What will it require then?
A single plate will do.
No bread or chapatti?
Nope.
Will there be rice?
I've got to turn off the stove. I'll be right back.

Is it ready yet or can i go sleep?
For how long?
How long will it take for the food to be ready?
We just talked about this.
Why can't you just tell?
Why can't you just wait?
