I was having a bad day and decided to go to one of my favourite places, the Carter Road Dog Park.
I was lost in my thoughts when I heard it. “Bowwow bowwow bowwow bowwow.”
He yanked at his chain, catching his human by surprise. His human let go and he sprinted towards me.
A thousand thoughts flew through my head. Was he okay? Hurt? Angry? Ill? Sad? What?
Too late. He halted right in front of me. At first, he looked at me and licked his lips — tense.
Till he stretched and wagged his tail!
“Sheru, that’s his name,” his human told me. “Sheru has never done this ever.”
I was left tongue tied. I knew what Sheru had done. He had done all that to tell me a, “Hi,” to cheer me up and make my day. Indeed, he had.
